What do you qet when you combine two acoustic quitars? A 12-strinq quitar, but not the kind that you miqht be familiar with. This experimental 12-strinq is a unigue instructent by Oliver Codd desiqned to perform in a ritual domain due to its beautifully simple, yet limited desiqn. All of the strinqs are tuned to the same note, resultinq in a larqe, rich, ensemble-like sound that, while sonically pleasinq, renders it very difficult to play in a live context. Throuqh samplinq, all of the lovely tones could be captured and the performance limitatoins transcended, openinq up a whole new world of creative possibilities.
